Super Soaked Weekend

So, Danny and I decided we needed a vacation but didn't want to spend the big bucks for it OR leave the area. We planned for a weekend in Destin, which is just over an hour from where we are from. Destin has many attractions to include a water park called Big Kahuna's. I had never been before so this sounded like a good idea. The night before our trip the weather was horrible and it showed rain on Saturday as well. Things didn't look promising so we needed a Plan B. "Shopping in Destin at the outlet malls?" you ask....BINGO! I was on board. What girl wouldn't be?!

The next morning, the sun was shining and it was very hot out. Half way on our way Danny thinks it's a good idea to continue with the water park idea. I had to remind him several times I did not bring our suits/towels and I got dolled up so I didn't want to get wet like that. Well, we made an immediate stop to Alvin's Island swim shop and bought bathing suits and all. Fortunately, Big Kahuna's was just right across the street...how convenient, hmmm.

Anyways, we made our way in and had a blast. Danny was continuously being asked by myself, "How's my face? Are my eyes OK?" I did not want to be seen as THAT GIRL with the raccoon eyes and all. I already felt like her. The one who shows up to outing or sporting events, the beach and now water park with way too much makeup and isn't necessary. All I was missing were the heels...ha-ha. Either way he kept me in place and I was good to go. Down the slides and waterfalls we went!

Things feel a whole lot lighter!

Last summer and still growing!
After two and a half years of growing out my locks, and contemplating many different hairstyles, I finally worked up the courage to cut my hair. I am almost 5'0 and my hair was passed my belt. It was getting a little ridiculous and I felt a little creepy. I was THAT girl...my hair was so long and overwhelming, it began to have a mind of its own and keeping up with it's agenda was not happening.

My new style
Anxiety was the main reason I held back on cutting my hair. Let's just say I do not do well in the chair. I have fears my hair will be butchered and I'll come out with a bowl cut or something worse...Eeeeek!

The weather in FL has heated up with Spring in the air. I only have a few hair styles: pony tail, bun, and down. VERY BORING! So,  I took a leap of  faith and taa-daa. I have short (shorter) hair! For me this is a significant change and I absolutely love it! I cut more than a foot of hair off but was short over an inch to donate. This was disappointing but I am still thrilled with my dooo. Now it's time to upload many YouTube videos and begin learning how to style it!

2013 McGuire's 5K Run

It's that time again with the kick-off to the St. Patrick's Day festivities. A famous Irish restaurant, McGuire's, located downtown Pensacola, FL off Gregory Street throws an annual 5K prediction run. Many people from across the country attend with the funniest and fanciest costumes imagined. This year Danny and I attended together again and raced.

Oh yes!
Mind you, I am no runner but this even is brilliant. Food and special leprechaun green booze is waiting in the end. I don't know about you, but this is most definitely motivation for making good time. Nearly 16,000 runners attended so it was fight to the finish.

We met up with some other friends from town and got our party on. Of course, we had company and it was time move out...party poopers.

From there, we attended a neighboring local bar where we sang some songs, danced a few jigs and of course, drank some more booze.

The experience is like no other and I highly recommend all to come out and have some fun, check it out!

Kicking and Screaming

For as long as Danny and I have been together he has been apart of some sport or team. He is very active and you will mostly find this man in the gym or running around town getting in his daily cardio. Me, on the other hand...eh, not so much. I have been fortunate in my youth were my pounds just don't show. It's what I like to call "skinny fat".
Trust me, the extra weight is there...somewhere?
I swear, my thighs and rump are a ticking time bomb and before you know it, this Hispanic girl will be very hefty!
But until then, let's eat!

My apologies...

To my Friend(s),

I am sorry for my absence. Creating a blog and keeping up with my life on something other than Facebook has been somewhat difficult for me...Ok, I'm lazy! There, I said it. I promise to do better. I am working on a post right now (other than this one). Sooo, I'm already making progress!

'Lucky' me...

For a whole week I was privileged to dog sit for a co-workers neighbor.
Her house was gorgeous and sat on Blackwater Bay.
Her dog, Lucky, was a blast to take care of and we all got along great!

Corn Flake Chicken, Green Beans,
and a Baked Potato

Danny and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful kitchen and baked up some real great dinners.

Flank Steak, Spinach and Mozzarella Pinwheel
Scalloped Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli

Publix is awesome.
We buy prepared entrees from the deli and usually pick out 2 sides.

Peruvian Chicken, Scalloped Potatoes,
Steamed Brussels Sprouts

This was the first meal Danny made for me when we first started dating and boy, did I fall in love!

It's one of our favorites.

-Good Times Together-

We love you.

"Life's a Beach"

Last weekend Danny and I decided to take one of many trips to the beach. The weather was  perfect! The sun was shining so bright and the sky was just as blue as it could be. It is finally the time of the year when living in Florida is the best!
